Renaissance
Woman, 1991

Equally irreverent and witty is Renaissance Woman, a cheeky rendition of the Mona Lisa. An exotic young woman leans forward on a wall, framed by a distant Italian landscape. No dreamy reflector here - she is direct and stalwart, brazenly adorned with animal tattoos, wearing a live tropical bird on her head. The veins in the marble ledge have an unnatural regularity. Nature is tamed by and for the woman even as it defines her. | ||
